Emergence

As part of being awarded the Bader + Simon grant, Robert will present a solo exhibition in Cincinnati in Spring 2026. Emergence marks a major milestone, serving as the first inaugural solo exhibition at the newly opened Bader + Simon gallery.

The exhibition features a new body of figurative work exploring identity, emotional pressure, and transformation. Moving between stark black-and-white paintings and color compositions anchored by black-and-white figures, the work emphasizes gesture, restraint, and the physical language of holding. Hands, posture, and stillness carry emotional weight, capturing moments where tension is contained and change begins to take shape.

Emergence invites viewers into the space between control and release, offering an intimate look at what it means to endure, shift, and become.
