I have been lucky enough to not just survive but also be able to look back to better understand the how. Looking back I see myself trapped by circumstance and drowning. I did what I could to garner attention but to no avail I was left hands up, face pressed against the glass hoping to be freed. I was left to rot and sometimes I feel like I never truly escaped.
