Meet Jim C., once called Jim Crow. You can rebrand racism, but it doesn’t vanish. The oppressed still see through the polished smile to thedarkness beneath. They’d rather we forget—pointing to wealth, fame, or a Black president as proof of progress. But we don’t forget. Every killing, every Karen, every MAGA hat reminds us: the hoods may be gone, the crosses unlit, but the heat still burns.
