This collection is a visual reckoning with silence, survival, and the emotional weight of everything I was taught not to say. The title comes from a wooden paddle from my childhood, a reminder that you only get told once, a lesson that shaped how I learned to stay quiet. These paintings push back against that silence, raw and unfiltered, inviting anyone who has ever been told to hold it in to finally let something out.
